Tips to Getting Affordable Flights to Beijing (Peking)
Beijing Capital International Airport is the main airport in Beijing which is the capital of China. There are other international airports in many parts of China because with its vast land area, it is difficult to have only a few international airports to serve domestic and international flights. Beijing Capital International Airport is home to Air China, one of the largest airlines not only in Beijing but in all of China serving approximately 34 million passengers every year.

Although many tourists know that discounts are the best ways to get cheaper flights, the fact is that they are not easy to find. At most times, airlines offer discounts within a day’s time and before you get hold of them, they are already gone. Keep in mind that keeping yourself up to date with airfares will help you find discounts. When booking a flight, changing your dates a single day or several days further can make a big difference on the cost of the flight.

Another tip about finding cheaper flights is that airlines usually launch airfare discounts during Tuesdays and Wednesdays and if you are planning to book your flight on any other days, you might regret it and gnash your teeth when the flight destination suddenly goes on sale. When booking a flight, especially online, they may ask you if you are willing to land in more than one destination. It’s best to answer yes, as this may be cheaper compared to a direct flight.

Travel Tips

You should file for a visa in your home country and most visas are good for two months, but they can be extended for another month. If a tourist chooses to stay for more than the designated three months, he should leave China, file for another visa in his home country and then return when everything is settled.

When traveling in Beijing you should keep in mind that once you check into any hotel you will be asked to show your passport or otherwise fill out a temporary residence form. International travelers are only allowed to stay in hotels that have three-star or above ratings as they are quite strict with tourists for security reasons. If you have relatives to stay with, you should register with the Security Bureau so they know how to contact you in case of emergencies.

Another tip for international travelers is that you are allowed to bring with you valuable items such as portable cameras, tape recorders, video cameras and laptops but if you bring other things or personal belongings exceeding this list, you will be asked to declare all accurate details of your belongings to the Customs.
